| Lavender is a Mediterranean plant. It was introduced
to Britain by the Romans 2000 years ago. So, when planting
lavender you have to think Mediterranean in the garden
– a well drained soil and a sunny spot. |

Our
Lavender field is on a hillside so it is well drained.
We are in the foothills of the Pennines, which creates
a rain shadow resulting in lower levels of rainfall
than other areas at our altitude. The field is in
open Countryside which catches all the Sunshine.
We farm organically (yes, we do have weeds) and as
a result our Lavender attracts bees and butterflies
in abundance and encourages other wildlife. |

| We are pleased to say our efforts are rewarded in
both the natural beauty of our lavender farm and the
Environmental award we have received. Read
